Quests in The Outer Worlds 2 refer to objectives and tasks that are tied to game progression. Quests are divided into Main Quests, Side Quests, Companion Quests, Faction Quests and Tasks. Main Quests drive the narrative forward and require completion in order to advance in the campaign. Side Quests and other quest types are optional activities that aren't required to complete the game, but are worth doing as many have their own stories or advance the storylines of various NPCs, including Companions.
